CNC Programmer/Machinist - October 2009

We are presently looking for an experienced CNC/CAM programmer to program parts from drawings and 3D models to our machines.  Applicants should also be able to run CNC machines in the event of complex set-ups, reduced programming volume, or staff shortage.  Applicant must have at least three years CAD/CAM and CNC experience as well as knowledge in 3D modelling software such as SolidEdge, CAD/CAM software knowledge of EdgeCam or Solutionware Geopath.  Our work is primarily 2D but our exposure to 3D and multi-axis work is increasing.  We have machining experience in all materials, but generally specialize in aluminum (castings and plate), steel (weldments), cast iron castings, and stainless steels (304, 420, etc), and applicants should have knowledge of these materials and cutting best practices at a minimum.  Toshiba/Tosnuc controls and Haas/Fanuc experience is an asset.  Duties will include estimating machine times, programming best practices, CAD drawing generation, set-up engineering, and possible first-run proving of toolpaths.  Qualified applicants can apply by emailing their resume to: jobs@spaceflite.com or faxing to (905)857-1850.
